BEASLEY & GILKISON SELECTED AS DELAWARE COUNTY COUNCIL ATTORNEYS
January 3, 2017 –Beasley & Gilkison LLP has been engaged to provide legal services to the Delaware County Council. Partner William V. Hughes will be the principal attorney on the engagement, attending monthly meetings of the Council, conducting research, and giving opinions and general legal advice to the Council as requested.
The seven-member Delaware County Council, three of whom are elected at large and four from single-member districts, serves as the fiscal body of county government. The Council adopts an annual budget, fixes tax rates, establishes compensation of county employees, and makes appropriations to fund county expenditures.
Mr. Hughes has worked with other units of local government during his career at Beasley & Gilkison. He shared in the responsibility of representing the City of Muncie from 2002 to 2010. He presently advises the Muncie Community Schools, Liberty-Perry Community School Corporation and Wes-Del Community Schools, as well as the Blackford County Area Plan Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals
